Cayla has been with Zia Pet Hospital since its opening in 2018. Beginning her veterinary career in 2013 and has experience in general practice and exotic medicine. She became the hospital manager of both Zia Pet Hospital and Monte Vista Pet Lodge in 2020 and has enjoyed being able to experience all aspect of her patients’ lives.
When not at the hospital or lodge, Cayla enjoys spending time at home with her husband, 3 dogs Lily, Olive, and Lemon, 3 cats Fury, Ripley, and Ichabod, 2 turtles B.T and Tor-Tia, uromastyx Charlie, and 6 chickens. She can be found out in her garden or beekeeping in the warmer seasons and playing Dungeons and Dragons or painting in the winter.
Lead Veterinary Technician
Kailey moved to New Mexico in 1995, at the age of 12, with her mom and 2 brothers. She attended school in Albuquerque through High school, graduating in 2002. In 2019 she graduated at the top of her class from the Animal Behavior College. Kailey joined the Zia Team in 2019 after completing her internship at the hospital.
During her free time, she enjoys exploring New Mexico with her husband, Ryan and 2 children, Alexis and Aaron. Kailey has 4 dogs, Comet a Pitbull mix, Ranger a Blue Heeler, Cooper a Border Collie, and Jack a Labrador mix. The newest member of her pack is Pouncer a Bearded dragon.
Rose joined Zia Pet Hospitals team at its opening in 2018. She is a Native American from the Pueblo of Zia and has two beautiful daughters with her longtime partner. Rose and her family enjoy their time outdoors, fishing and hauling wood.
Rose’s family is completed by 2 Husky mix babies, Cherry and Eeyore, German Shepard Gunther, Shih Tzu mix Princess Bob and 2 cats Kip and Powder. She obtained her Veterinary Technician Certification in 2006 and has been caring for all the pets that have come across her path, even volunteering her skills to the spay and neuter clinics for the animals of the reservation
Mariah moved to New Mexico from California in January of 2021 and joined the Zia Team in June of the same year. She received licensing in phlebotomy from US Colleges but found her true passion in animal care. Starting as a Kennel Technician she moved her way up through facilities into the role of a Veterinary Technician with experience in both large farm animals as well as companion pets.
During her free time, Mariah likes to be outdoors hiking, off-roading, and camping with her fiancé Alex and her son Jameson. While they only have one dog named Roxy right now they are4 hopeful to add a new member to the family once their home is finished being built.
