Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Rachel Moulton grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and received her undergraduate degree from Utah State University. She was accepted a year early and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 1996.
The first year of her career was spent practicing small animal and equine medicine and surgery in Babenhausen, Germany. She then returned to New Mexico and has been in Albuquerque ever since. She has enjoyed practicing in multiple different areas of medicine during her career including general practice, emergency medicine, high volume spay/neuter and locum work. She believes that veterinary medicine is a “team sport” and enjoys the communication with her clients, their pets, hospital technicians, CSRs, colleagues and specialists to achieve the best outcomes for her patients.
Being a strong advocate for her patients is one of her passions. She has had many professional interests over the years but currently her favorites are surgery, dentistry and dermatology. She was excited to join Zia Pet Hospital to learn more about regenerative medicine. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her husband and two daughters. She also belongs to a hockey team and loves ballroom dancing. She shares her home with her two cats, Cliffy and Cece as well as three dogs Ginger, Jacky and Moe.
